The Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service partners with the Wisconsin affiliate of Kids Voting USA (KVUSA), a national non-profit and non-partisan organization with a goal of creating educated and engaged voters of the future by introducing civics knowledge into the K-12 curriculum. This local partnership, founded in 2008, provides opportunities for high school and college students as volunteers and interns to participate in promoting educational activities such as assisting with youth parallel polling at election sites. KVUSA is now housed, along with WIPPS, in the new Center for Civic Engagement in Wausau, and both organizations are working to expand their collaborative educational outreach events beyond the Wausau/Marathon County region to other communities in the state.
