Birdies, Bogeys and Building Community

WIPPS announces a family friendly 9-hole golf scramble July 29 at Trapp River

All skill levels welcome, with flag events, door prizes, raffles and lunch. Registration deadline July 22.

Golfers of all skill levels and ages are invited to “Birdies, Bogeys and Building Community,” a family-friendly, 9-hole scramble on Monday, July 29 at Trapp River Golf Course, T12102 County Road WW, Wausau.

This unique golf event will include kids and adults (golfers age six and up), for fun flag events, prizes and raffles.

The Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS) is hosting the event, which aims to bring families together for a fun-filled morning on the golf links. All proceeds from this fundraiser will help support programs to help citizens become more engaged, active and involved in their communities.

“While most golf outings are adult-focused, WIPPS wanted to include all ages in a community event on a Monday that brings families together,” said Kerry Bloemers, WIPPS development program manager.

The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with registration and putting lessons, and free chipping lessons for children under 13, a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and lunch served at the end of the scramble.

Cost for nine holes with cart and lunch is $25 per participant for children under 13 and $50 per participant for 13 and over. To register or for more details, go to wipps.org/events/golf-outing/

Deadline to register is July 22.
