Helping Attract And Keep Good Leaders
A recent study identified “engaging emerging leaders” as one of the top priorities for attracting and keeping young professionals in Marathon County. WIPPS, the UW-Extension and the Marathon County Diversity Commission received a grant to address this priority by building a countywide leadership coalition.
Although there are other county leadership programs, the coalition has built collaboration between these programs, acting as a clearinghouse for leadership and community involvement opportunities for people ages 16-39. The coalition believes that engaging emerging leaders in high school will inspire them to stay in or return to their local communities when they launch their careers.
