Returning to the Community After Incarceration: A Quality Improvement Project

In the Spring of 2020, UW-Eau Claire nursing students collaborated with community partners to identify gaps and barriers experienced by those returning to the community after incarceration. Collaborating partners included Ex-Incarcerated Peoples Organizing (EXPO), FREE – Reclaiming Women’s Freedom of the Chippewa Valley, and Eau Claire Department of Human Services.

This presentation will address the need to improve programming and resource availability. It will explore issues and barriers experienced around inequalities, structural racism, stigma, and judgement when returning to the community.

Hear this presentation and more, from the comfort of your home or office, at Toward One Wisconsin 2021. By attending you will learn from expert led presentations on these four conference tracks:

Track I: Increasing Opportunities for Inclusion in Wisconsin’s Workforce
Track II: Creating Inclusive Communities
Track III: Cultivating Equity in Education
