Civic Participation Series: Now accepting fall engagements

Dave Obey, left, and Tom Petri, have interview with Daily Herald Media’s reporter Thursday afternoon, March 12, 2015, at the UWMC Center for Civic Engagement in Wausau.

The Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service and the David R. Obey Civic Resource Center present a unique opportunity for university students and the general public to hear directly from two long-time congressional leaders.

This fall, former Congressmen Tom Petri and Dave Obey will be going on the road to speak to campuses and classes across eastern Wisconsin in a Civic Participation Lecture Series.

These long-time public servants care deeply about America, and the importance of citizen involvement and awareness of how our government works. They are excited to share their experiences and expertise on a wide variety of domestic and international policy issues.

Their spring tour in northern and southern Wisconsin generated enthusiastic responses and participation from a wide cross-section of the public.
