Palestinian and Israeli Peacemakers in Conversation

WIPPS Partners with the Mauthe Center to Present the Shirlyn Miller Lecture in Human Rights and Public Understanding

The Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS) is excited to partner with the Mauthe Center to present The Shirlyn Miller Lecture in Human Rights and Public Understanding, featuring Aziz Abu Sarah and Magen Inon.

The event will take place in Green Bay on April 22, 2025, at 7:00 P.M. at the Mauthe Center (2418 Leon Bond Drive, Green Bay), and with a livestream viewing event at the UW-Center for Civic Engagement (625 Stewart Ave, Wausau).

The lecture features Magen Inon, an Israeli peace activist whose parents were killed on October 7, 2023, and Aziz Abu Sarah, a Palestinian whose brother died after being beaten in Israeli custody for throwing stones. Together with their families, they have been leading a campaign against revenge and for peace.

Magen and Aziz will be in conversation at the Mauthe Center as part of the Shirlyn Miller Lecture in Human Rights and Public Understanding. Through the generosity of her daughter Susan Nuetzel, this series honors the life and work of Shirlyn Miller, well known in the Green Bay community for her many contributions to human flourishing and public understanding.

This event is free and open to the public with three ways to attend:
