Think College Days (featured in WSAW)
WSAW: Some local junior high students are getting an early look at what college is like. Seventh graders from John Muir Middle School in Wausau took over the UW-Marathon County campus Wednesday for the 10th annual Think College Days.
The students got a chance to experience actual college classes, attend college readiness sessions, and get an overall feel for what college is like.
Amber Haluska, associate principal at John Muir Middle School says, “The goal is for them to see the opportunities, start investing in not only their education today, but their future as well. And how we can support and prepare them for that process.”
Seventh grade students from Horace Mann Middle School will attend the event on Thursday.
Think College Days is a collaboration between the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service, UW-Marathon County, John Muir Middle School and Horace Mann Middle School.
