WIPPS IT Specialist

The Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS), located at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Wausau campus, is seeking a part-time IT specialist. Primary role will be working with non-technical staff and providing IT support. Job responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the WIPPS website, including regular updates to the site using Word Press CMS and overseeing a technology upgrade plan
  • Formatting and sending marketing e-blasts
  • Handling database management and support
  • Managing Google cloud services, including Google photos
  • Providing internal staff communication platform support
  • Investigating data storage and management solutions
  • Interfacing with UWSP for computer/IT support
  • Troubleshooting staff IT issues

Core competences include:

  • Experience with relevant operating systems, software and programming – including HTML and CSS
  • Good organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Efficient troubleshooting capabilities
  • Analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication ability, both written and verbal, especially when conveying technical information to staff
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Ability to work independently

This position will be between 10-15 hours per week and at the present time will be remotely due to COVID-19, with all meetings and interaction with staff handled through online communication platforms (such as Zoom and WebEx), phone calls and emails.

Salary: Dependent on experience
Work schedule: Flexible hours, 10-15 hours per week on average
