Welcoming Week was started by the organization Welcoming America in 2012 with the goal of helping everyone experience a sense of connection and belonging in their community. 2024 will be the first year that Welcoming Week will be celebrated by multiple organizations and across multiple days in the Wausau area!
The Hmong and Hispanic Communication Network (H2N), a WIPPS program that aims to address health inequality in the Hmong and Hispanic communities, is excited to be involved with three Welcoming Weeks events. These include a presentation titled “Contributions of Latinos to the Wisconsin Economy,” Stop the Bleed Training, and Hispanic Heritage Day at the Children’s Imaginarium.
Whether you’re from Wausau, immigrated to our community, or moved to Wausau from somewhere else in the U.S., we invite you to attend! With over 15 events held throughout the week, there will be no shortage of opportunities to connect, learn, and engage with fellow community members.
See you there!
