Hmong and Hispanic Communication Network Releases Second COVID-19 Family Testimonial Video

H2N video features central Wisconsin families’ pandemic experience, why they chose to vaccinate

The Hmong and Hispanic Communication Network (H2N) has a released a 2-minute video featuring a central Wisconsin family’s pandemic experience and why they chose to get vaccinated. The video is in Spanish with English subtitles.

In the video, the Savela/Castro family discusses how they supported each other during the pandemic. The family explains that they received COVID-19 vaccinations to protect themselves and their family members. The family is multigenerational and includes a child too young to receive a vaccine.

“It’s a chain. First, we protect our family, then neighbor and then our community,” said Norma Castro.

H2N and WIPPS encourage media outlets to share the video on-air and via social media channels. The “Savela/Castro Family Testimonial (Spanish)” can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_Rbd16P0rU.

This is the second in a series of videos that feature interviews with multi-generational families discussing their experiences with COVID-19 and their reasons for being vaccinated. The series is part of H2N’s “Let’s Get Vaxxed” video series. The H2N YouTube channel can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm6Jqu-oDlw4VMZ6sxyvZzQ/featured.

H2N is a collaborative project of Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service, Asociación Hispana-Americana, Hmong American Center, Medical College of Wisconsin – Central Wisconsin, Wausau Free Clinic, and other community partners. The project was developed in 2020 to provide racial and ethnic minority groups with resources and tools to better withstand the COVID-19 pandemic.
