PORTAGE COUNTY – The Izaak Walton League Bill Cook Chapter will host their annual winter jamboree on Feb. 6, noon – 4 p.m., at 5297 Wisconsin Highway 66, Stevens Point.
The Izaak Walton League Bill Cook Chapter provides activities, such as: scholarships, stream improvement, hunter education, highway and river cleanup, and bow shoots.
The jamboree will include outdoor games and raffles, along with beverages and concessions; however, ice fishing will not be included in the jamboree activities this year
“We hold it to get the name of the Izaak Walton League out there, to teach our message of conservation to the public, and to introduce people to different outdoor activities that they may not have a chance or experience to do,” said Izaak Walton League Bill Cook Chapter President Nick Homan.
Homan added that normal COVID-19 procedures will be carried out on the grounds and on shuttles, such as social distancing and use of masks.
