2026 Washington Seminar Applications Now Open!

Applications Close Soon: 2026 Washington Seminar

Time is running out to apply for the 2026 Washington Seminar, a three-week study away program held in Madison and Washington, D.C., over the summer term.

Applications close February 1, 2026, and space is limited.

Offered by the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS) in partnership with the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, this immersive program gives students a firsthand look at how public policy is shaped at the state and national levels.

The 2026 seminar will run May 26–June 13 and will be led by UW–Eau Claire faculty members Daniel Simmons and Jordan Hamzawi.

Open to all majors, this program offers tailored meetings with policy experts to align with each student’s research and career interests. Participants earn three transferable credits through UW–Eau Claire.

The Washington Seminar provides a rare, insider’s view of policymaking and is an ideal opportunity for students considering internships or careers in public service or government. Participants meet with members of Congress, executive branch officials, lobbyists, and other policy professionals.

The course fee of $4,450 covers tuition, airfare, housing, a Metro Pass, and daily breakfast. Scholarships are available for students with financial need.
