Matt Groshek, M.F.A.
Raised on a small family farm in Rudolph, Wisconsin, WIPPS Fellow Matt Groshek sees an ingrained sense of civic involvement in rural communities that is “staggering in its complexity and power.” Now a senior lecturer of art and design at UW-Stevens Point, Groshek has returned to his roots, spearheading the People of Rural Wisconsin Project, an oral history program focused on people living and working in rural Wisconsin communities. He has overseen the creation of a brand new website for the project. He is also working with WIPPS to create a national issue guide on the future of rural communities in partnership with the Kettering Foundation.
