The Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service (WIPPS) is excited to partner with MOSAIC of North Central Wisconsin to present “Let’s Talk Marathon County: Using Deliberative Dialogue to Defuse Charged Conversations” on Wednesday, August 27th from 11:30am-12:30pm via Zoom.
The presentation will feature WIPPS Executive Director Eric Giordano, Ph.D. and WIPPS Research Partners Director Sharon Belton, Ph.D. They will explore how the “Let’s Talk, Marathon County” program uses deliberative dialogue to facilitate civil conversations on divisive topics.
Participants will learn how deliberative dialogue can help residents move beyond polarized debates toward genuine understanding, as well as highlighting findings from immigration dialogues where community members successfully tackled one of today’s most divisive issues. Attendees will discover practical strategies for defusing tension and bridging divides through respectful engagement.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
