Details:

The Building Merrill Together initiative continues with the introduction of the “River Bend Trail Community Project.” The first event for that project is a development seminar featuring Dr. Arijit Sen, an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Through a curriculum development seminar, Dr. Sen will share his knowledge of community engagement tactics and story-sharing methods such as Jane’s Walks, History Harvests, and Oral History Field Projects. This seminar will offer an exciting and accessible format to engage a wider audience around cultural heritage issues. Merrill area residents will be able to explore the history of their town from individual, family, and business perspectives.

The seminar agenda will include citizen introductions, presentations on community engagement and oral history techniques, leadership team building activities, and the brainstorming of additional ideas for creating a River Bend Trail Community Project.

Lunch is provided and reservations to attend are appreciated; call the T.B. Scott Free Library at 715-536-7191 to register.
