Shining a Light on Democracy is the fifth event in the series, with featured presenters Clayton Schulz, Everest Metro police chief, Lisa Rasmussen, Wausau City Council alderperson, and Curtis Miles, WAOW Channel 9 manager. Moderator will be Rick Reyer, Wisconsin Public Radio regional manager.

This facilitated Q&A community discussion will be held on November 14 at 7 p.m. at the Northcentral Technical College, main building, Timberwolf Conference Center, 1000 W. Campus Drive, Wausau.

Beyond the Headlines is a statewide project of the Wisconsin Humanities Council. Citizens and journalists across Wisconsin are coming together for face-to-face to discuss pressing local issues.

At future Beyond the Headlines events in Wausau, Eau Claire, Milwaukee and Superior, the public will gain valuable information about relevant issues in their community, and hear from local journalists about how local media investigate and report the news.
