As part of the Toward One Wisconsin conference, artist-in-residence Dasha Kelly Hamilton is offering an incredible experience the first night of the conference. The first 40 conference registrants to respond will receive complimentary tickets to see conference Dasha Kelly Hamilton and fellow performance artist Kima Hamilton at Milwaukee’s Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. They will perform a cross genre, multi-media exploration of sovereignty, history and home. Guest performances by Bennie Higgins (trumpet), Kimi Evelyn (dance), B-Free (vocals) and Even Sandherr (visual art).
Dasha is a nationally respected writer, performer, facilitator and creative change agent. She has performed throughout the U.S. and Canada and appeared on the final season of HBO presents Russell Simmons’ “Def Poetry Jam.” Named Artist of the Year by the city of Milwaukee, she has twice been a finalist for Poet Laureate of Wisconsin.
Tickets for non-conference attendees and for conference attendees after the 40 complimentary tickets are claimed are $20 and are only available through the Marcus Center Box Office in person or at the door.
