Veninga Lecture: A Pastor’s View of Social Justice

Rev. George DeMass will discuss, “A Pastor’s View of Social Justice and the Church.”

The event is free and open to the public.

A retired Presbyterian minister who has worked for social justice issues throughout his life, Rev. DeMass began a Baltimore/Dakota partnership with the Lakota Sioux in South Dakota. For 20 years, he was actively involved in Northern Ireland’s peacemaking efforts. He is currently president of the Safe Haven Holocaust Museum Refugee Shelter in Oswego, N.Y.

The Veninga Religion and Lecture Series is named for James Veninga, former UW-Marathon County dean who helped launch WIPPS, the UW Center for Civic Engagement, and the UW Colleges Religious Studies Program.
