Family Health Center Substance Abuse Services Study

In 2019-2020, Family Health Center of Marshfield, Inc. (FHC) contracted for services with WIPPS Research Partners to facilitate key informant interviews and focus groups, including coordinating, carrying out and compiling feedback, for the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program–Planning (RCORP-Planning) grant on behalf of the Central Wisconsin Partnership for Recovery. The goal of the RCORP-Planning Project is to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with opioid overdoses in high-risk rural communities by strengthening the organizational and infrastructural capacity of multi-sector consortiums to address prevention, treatment, and/or recovery needs.

The goals of the project were to gather information from community leaders and consumers to better understand challenges, gaps, trends and opportunities for improvement related to opioid (and other substance) use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services on behalf of the Family Health Center of Marshfield, Inc. A secondary purpose was to add qualitative data and deeper perspective to inform a needs assessment, strategic plan, and sustainability plan focusing on Clark and Wood Counties regarding AODA prevention and treatment services.
