WIPPS 2015 Spring News: Workforce Development official joins WIPPS Board
As a WIPPS Advisory Board member, Dave Anderson is looking forward to using his extensive network of contacts in Madison and throughout the state to expand the footprint of WIPPS.
Anderson currently serves as assistant deputy secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. Prior to this appointment, he was district director to 7th U.S. District Congressman Sean Duffy. He also served as district director to former U.S. Rep. Tom Petri of Fond du Lac.
His long tenure in government includes work as the deputy state director for former U.S. Senator Robert Kasten, Jr., and as a senior staff member in the administrations of Governors Tommy Thompson and Scott McCallum.
“I joined WIPPS because I fully support and am enthused about the WIPPS mission to encourage engagement and participation in government and public service,” Anderson said. “I am especially interested in helping promote internships and research opportunities for students.”
A native of Hazelhurst, Wisconsin, Anderson is a 1978 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a Bachelor of Arts degree in social studies and German. His first job after graduation was as a high school German teacher at Lakeland High School in Minocqua.
